Materials
Decavitator was constructed from so-called "space-age" materials in order to satisfy the high wing loading requirements and minimize weight. Stresses in the main wing reached 80,000 psi (1.16 G Pa) and the boat weighed only 50 lbs (23 kg) in its final configuration.
